  • Water Management Solutions

As a former Commissioner and Chairman of Jessamine Rural Water District No. 1, George recognizes the need for utility services such as water and sewer. As a result of this experience he drafted changes to the Kentucky Revised Statutes that would encourage mergers of rural water districts by allowing two additional positions on the board of merged districts.

This legislation was successfully sponsored by Rep. Robert Damron in the 1996 Kentucky General Assembly. As a supporter or the Jessamine County Southeast Water project George helped work out a territorial boundary agreement with Spears Water Co. which required them to install a water line along Beaumont Road at no cost to the residents. In 1995 he began working with Judge Cassity on a sewer service agreement with Lexington Fayette Urban County Government which will provide sewers to Tates Creek Estates and other Mobile Home Parks on Ashgrove Road.  Since 2000 he has helped in the acquisition of $4 million dollars in grant funding for the construction of sewers in those areas.

Jessamine County Fire Station No. 2

In 1997 George worked with the Jessamine County Fire District and the owners of Taylor Made Farm for acquisition of a site for a fire station on Union Mill Road. This was the first County Fire Station to be built outside of the Nicholasville City Limits. The location of this station placed 95% of the residents of the 4th District within 5 miles of a fire station.

Committed to the preservation of our County's Historic Heritage, Rural Economy and Quality of Life

As a full time farmer George recognizes the need to preserve farmland. He is an advocate for controlled and orderly development that does not jeopardize our rural quality of life or place a burden on our abilities to provide essential services to the residents of Jessamine County.
