George W. Dean is a lifelong resident of Jessamine County and has represented the Fourth District since 1993. George stays active and involved in the county through his government responsibilities, as well as through numerous civic groups.
George has been a member of the Valley View Ferry Authority since 1994. He is Chairman of the Nicholasville – Jessamine County Parks and Recreation Board, Vice-Chairman of the Jessamine County Planning and Zoning Ordinance Review Committee and member of the Joint City of Nicholasville-Jessamine County and City of Wilmore Planning and Zoning Comprehensive Plan Committee. He serves on the Jessamine County Fiscal Court's Planning & Zoning Advisory Committee and the 911 Communications Advisory Board. He is a member of the Camp Nelson Coordinating Committee and member of the Kentucky River Task Force, the High Bridge Park Committee. In addition to being
a full-time farmer, George worked 6 years as a substitute teacher in the
Jessamine County School System. He was Commissioner of Jessamine County
Rural Water District No. 1 for 7 years. He was Chairman of the Water District
for 4 of those 7 years. George has been a member of the Eastern By-pass Advisory Committee and is currently a member of the Jessamine County Transportation Task Force.
